A major study on the effects of advice provided by Québec’s pharmacists

Rapport
Guy Paré (HEC Montréal and CIRANO) and Stéphanie Boulenger (CIRANO), in collaboration with Aude Motulski (CHUM Research Center), published a study on the frequency, nature and effects of advice provided by community pharmacists in Québec.

This study led to a major pharmaceutical data collection from both pharmacists and patients. The results speak for themselves.  They demonstrate that medical consultations supplied by pharmacies serve as triage and ease access to primary care while greatly benefitting patients and the health care system as a whole.

This independent study, the first of its kind, was made by the Association québécoise des pharmaciens propriétaires (AQPP) and received major media coverage.
