Nathalie de Marcellis-Warin, President and CEO of CIRANO, was invited by Governor Ronald Gabriel to speak at the Bank of the Republic of Haiti as part of a governance strengthening program established by Samuel Pierre of the Institute of Science, Technology and Advanced Studies of Haiti (ISTHEA).
Her presentation focused on the opportunities offered by artificial intelligence, the challenges of technology governance, risk management, and the importance of data-driven decision-making. In a context marked by uncertainty and complexity, these dimensions now play a central role in financial stability and economic development.
The discussions also highlighted the strategic role of scientific advisory boards in supporting public decision-makers, particularly in environments where technological transformations and emerging risks require rigorous and independent analytical frameworks.
The meeting provided an opportunity for discussions with the institution’s management and research teams, notably with Jean Marie Cayemitte, Director of Research.
This engagement is part of CIRANO’s mission to strengthen dialogue between research and public institutions, in support of informed, robust, and resilient policymaking.
