Launch of the 2025-2035 Biofood Policy: CIRANO’s key role in preparatory work

On August 22, 2025, Nathalie de Marcellis-Warin, President and CEO of CIRANO, and Ingrid Peignier, Senior Director of Partnerships and Research Valorization, took part in the launch of the 2025-2035 Biofood Policy « Nourrir ses ambitions ». The event, presented by André Lamontagne, Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food of Québec (MAPAQ), was held in the presence of Québec Premier François Legault.

Renée Lalancette, Director of the Biofood Policy Secretariat, outlined the main orientations of the new policy, built around two essential drivers: innovation and collaboration.

CIRANO is proud to have contributed to the preparatory work for this policy, notably by organizing a workshop bringing together all the ministries involved, and by mobilizing researchers from its major theme Sustainable Development and Agri-Food. These researchers presented their work and actively participated in the discussions that shaped the policy.

Held in the picturesque setting of Mouton Village, this event was also an opportunity to meet again with numerous partners from the biofood sector and several CIRANO researchers.
